Piano Purchase

I created this add-on guide to my page Choose the Right Piano to help my studio and piano friends who want to shop at a store. I realize that finding an instrument through Facebook marketplace or the like is not for everyone!

Each time I speak with a store, I mention that my first priority is ensuring they offer the best price possible and that I’m not interested in kickbacks or referral bonuses. Some stores, like the Steinway Gallery, have a referral program, so my rejecting those bonuses would not lower your purchase price.

If I ever receive such funds, I will put those toward hardware for the studio, such as a hydraulic bench. If I have no capital purchases to make, I will donate the funds to the maintenance of the pianos we use at Central UMC.

Please let the store know that I referred you, which can help you and others in the studio get better pricing as we support these businesses.

The Steinway Gallery sells brands besides Steinway and has a good selection of new and used acoustic instruments in their showroom. They also are an authorized Roland dealer, which I mention later in this post.

You will pay more when you shop in a gallery than in a private sale, but having instruments in one space is convenient.

The Tulsa store has a complete line of instruments, including the high-end Clavinovas, which I highly recommend. Although I suggest making a day trip to Tulsa to try out these instruments, you can also buy one to be shipped over the phone.

The Fayetteville store is located on the other side of the highway from Sam’s Club and Fayetteville Auto Park. It has just a couple of the budget-line Portable instruments. I have not yet established a direct connection with this outlet.

Kawai Electronic

There are no nearby retail outlets for these instruments, although you can see their locations by clicking on their store locator.

This same group does road shows at Sam’s Club in Bentonville from time to time. When they are there, they will give you the best deal on their instruments, even if it’s not a model they’ve brought as a demo model.

You can order these instruments to be shipped via phone order.

Believe it or not, our local Steinway Gallery is a Roland dealer! I’d encourage you to make an appointment to play their selection of mid-to-high-end instruments, since they are well made and a good alternative if you’ve ruled out an acoustic piano coming into your house.
